Brenda Gleenette Gray of Mathews, Va., age 64, born on Jan. 13, 1948, took the hand of the Lord to walk in His kingdom on Jan. 5, 2013.

Brenda was preceded in death by her son, David Wayne Roark; mother, Sarah Phillips; father, Cecil Stacey, and sister, Barbara Daniels.

Brenda is survived by her husband and soul mate of 37 years, Tom Gray; daughter, Bunny Cohen and husband Paul; son, Michael Gray and fiancée Jennifer; granddaughter, Casey Van Zanten and husband Ryan; grandson, Nikki White and girlfriend Madalyn; grandson, Alix Cohen; great-granddaughter, Bella Van Zanten; sister, Shelia Stacey; brother, David Stacey; best friend, Diana Hill; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

There will be a celebration of her life with the casting of her ashes on the beach of Nags Head, N.C., held at a later date. There will be another celebration of her life with family and friends in Denton, Texas.

In lieu of flowers or cards, the family requests that donations are made in her name to any dog rescue of your choice, to honor her memory.
