Billie Rester Tappan, 81, of Gloucester Point, died Sept. 21, 2011 at her home.
Billie loved being with family and friends and enjoyed going out to restaurants with her friends. The people of the entire county of Gloucester were privileged to enjoy the delicious peaches from the peach orchard she and her husband had for years in their backyard. Billie will be missed by everyone who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lee Tappan, in 1998.
She is survived by her son, Ronald L. Tappan and wife Donna; granddaughters, Casey Tappan and Callie Tappan, and many friends.
Graveside funeral services conducted by the Rev. Arthur L. Wolz Jr. were held at 11 a.m. Monday at Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery. Friends assembled at the cemetery. The family received friends Sunday from 4-6 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point.
