Gloucester’s next reassessment is still on track to be completed by Jan. 1, 2015.
In a presentation to the Gloucester County Board of Supervisors Tuesday night in the colonial courthouse, county assessor Derek Green said numerous steps have been taken within his office to ensure the reassessment will be accurate and on time.
Green said the department has come a long way since he came on board last July.
When he started, he said the county was using an antiquated software system and was using only one primary neighborhood to base the reassessments on.
Green said a majority of the parcels in the county’s database were flat-valued land and were not table-driven. "That’s a big problem," he said. "You have equity issues when you’re doing that."
