The 36th Mathews Market Days celebration, known as "The Showcase of a Creative Community," will kick off Friday and continue through Saturday in and around Main Street, Mathews.
"We have more booths this year than ever," said Barbara Bass, second vice chair of the Mathews Market Days Committee. "We have more variety this year and we do have a lot of people out of the area becoming interested in Market Days as guests and as participants."
Bass said 24 committee members have "worked really hard" to make this year a success.
More than 90 booths will display local arts and crafts both Friday and Saturday, according to Trudy Flippin, spokesperson for Market Days. Displays will include local arts and crafts such as woodworking, jewelry, table linens, lamps, decorative flags, books, quilts, stained glass, plants, home-baked breads and cakes, and more. Local organizations will also host booths with information on financial awareness, animal care advice and more.
