Market Days activities will take place from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Saturday night’s Street Dance is scheduled for 8 to 11 p.m. Admission and parking for the two-day festival is free.
On Saturday only, shuttle bus transportation will be available at no cost from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., according to Market Days Committee spokesperson Trudy Flippin. The bus will pick up at Lee-Jackson/Thomas Hunter Middle School (on Church Street/Route 611) and at Mathews High School (on Buckley Hall Road/Route 198) and stop at the fire station near the court green. A designated area for handicapped loading and unloading is located on the corner of Court and Church streets.
Local arts and crafts on display will include wooden bird and fish carvings, hand-woven items, glass art, children’s toys and puzzles, Flippin said. There will also be baskets, hooked rugs, handmade books and boxes, soaps, nautical art, jewelry, home-baked breads and cakes, pottery and the traditional home crafts—embroidery, knitting, sewing and more.
Local organizations will also offer information on financial awareness, animal care advice, and more.
