About 150 youngsters enjoyed food, skateboarding and fun at BrownParkapalooza, which was held last Thursday at Gloucester’s Brown Park. The event was part of Impact Gloucester, a week of local mission projects by the Verge Youth Church of the Lighthouse Worship Center, Ordinary. This is the third year for Impact Gloucester, according to Kristin Macan, one of the youth group’s leaders. In top photo, Sean Sherrange, a member of the sk804 skateboarding group, shows off some of his trick moves at the park. At right, teens relax and enjoy burgers and other refreshments that were offered. Several bands were also scheduled to perform; unfortunately, thunderstorms rumbled in the distance and the groups decided not to go on out of concern for their instruments. In addition to the youth-oriented party, the Verge Youth Group also held a block party at Founders Mill that was geared more toward adults, Macan said. Impact Gloucester also included local community service projects. Photo by Charlie Koenig.
