The Main Street Preservation Trust, in partnership with Gloucester County, is preparing a plan for the long-term use of the Court House area.

A "Vision Forum" was held May 8 at the Main Street Center Event Office. Persons who were unable to attend that meeting may still submit comments about how they would like the village area improved by Tuesday, May 29, said Emily Gibson, a planner in the Gloucester Planning Department.

Gibson said the plan will establish goals and policies for future development and preservation.

Planning director Anne Ducey-Ortiz said the plan will be considered as a sub-area in the county’s Comprehensive Plan, which is now under review.

An approximately 20-member citizen steering committee will help prepare a draft plan for review and adoption by the county. Gibson said the committee will review comments made at the May 8 meeting by residents, businessmen and consultants, along with the e-mail comments now being received. The committee will make some recommendations this summer, with a second vision forum planned for September.
