All registered voters, regardless of their party affiliation, will have a chance to cast their ballots on Tuesday during the Republican primary to nominate that party’s candidate to run in the general election Nov. 8.
Candidates in Tuesday’s primary are vying for the nomination for the 98th District Virginia House of Delegates seat and the 3rd District Virginia Senate seat.
Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Absentee voting in Gloucester and Mathews will take place in each county’s Voter Registrar’s office through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The 98th House District includes both Gloucester and Mathews counties, while the 3rd Senate District includes Gloucester.
Four candidates have filed for the House seat—Gloucester residents Sherwood Bowditch, Ken Gibson and Catesby Jones and Urbanna resident Keith Hodges.
