Another in a series of community meetings for Gloucester Point area residents will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 9, in the Abingdon Elementary School cafeteria.
The meetings are being held to discuss the future of the Gloucester Point and Hayes areas and will address concerns of area residents and business owners. This session will be hosted by Bobby Crewe, Gloucester Point district representative on the county board of supervisors.
The Aug. 9 meeting will focus on the Gloucester Point/Hayes Planning Project, which has been underway since last fall, according to county spokesperson Christi Lewis. She said Crewe and county staff will give an update on the project’s progress and explain its next steps. Also, Lewis said there will be opportunity for those in attendance to give feedback for use in shaping the project prior to consideration by the county’s planning commission and board of supervisors.
Crewe will also address road widening and other Virginia Department of Transportation projects, the county assessment process and the sign ordinance issue, Lewis said.
