A Hayes couple charged with attempted capital murder and first-degree murder after disturbing discoveries were made at their Carrie Lane home last week by Gloucester Sheriff’s Office investigators are still being held without bond.

Brian and Shannon Gore were set to be arraigned in Gloucester General District Court yesterday morning.

Armed with a search warrant pertaining to an unrelated matter, investigators entered the couple’s mobile home last Thursday where they found a young girl extremely malnourished and suffering from severe starvation, according to GSO Chief Investigator Scott Little.

Little said the young girl, who appeared to be five or six years old, was imprisoned and apparently starving in a modified crib covered with a piece of wood. He said the girl was unclothed and covered in her own waste, and investigators determined that she was left alone and unattended in the enclosure for extended periods of time.

After questioning the Gores, Little said investigators returned to the property on Friday and uncovered the buried remains of what appears to be a young child inside a shed. The remains are currently being analyzed at the state medical examiner’s office.
