Gloucester’s Older Adult Committee is seeking a community member from the Abingdon District to serve a three-year term, according to county spokesperson Christi Lewis.

The committee, she said, advises the Gloucester Board of Supervisors on the planning and development of an improved older adult center, transportation needs, health care and nutrition needs, financial planning and taxes, social activities, low-cost home repair loans and housing needs of the county’s older adults.

The group meets on the third Monday of each month at 1:30 p.m. in the Gloucester Active Lifestyle Center on Main Street.

Those interested in serving are asked to complete a volunteer board bank interest form on the county’s website at or call the Community Education Department at 693-5730.
