$7,000 reward offered for information on gun theft

A reward of up to $7,000 is being offered for information regarding the recent theft of over 40 firearms from a Gloucester business, according to the Gloucester Sheriff’s Office.

The firearms were stolen from Hunters Heaven at 3530 George Washington Memorial Highway during the early morning hours Sunday. They included two unique guns, a Remington 700 .30-06 Dale Earnhardt Jr. commemorative edition rifle and a Magnum Research BFR .500 Smith and Wesson handgun.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is offering a reward of up to $3,000, which will be matched by the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF). Another $1,000 in reward money is offered by Crime Stoppers.

The NSSF matches ATF rewards in cases involving the theft of firearms from federally licensed firearms retailers.
