The Gloucester Planning Department will hold the last of three meetings scheduled this month from 5-8 o’clock tonight at the Gloucester Library in Main Street Center so the public can hear about the county’s comprehensive plan update.

Planning director Anne Ducey-Ortiz said other meetings were held June 15 at Achilles Elementary School; and this Tuesday at the Piankatank Community League building at Harcum. Planner Emily Gibson said survey sheets, distributed at the meetings, ask respondents what they consider to be the largest environmental issues facing Gloucester, if they feel affordable housing is available here, if open spaces are valuable to Gloucester’s quality of life, among other topics.

Also, the survey asks respondents their views of how important is it for future growth to be more compact in certain areas of the county, allowing other areas to remain rural. Another question asks if community facilities in Gloucester are adequate.

"What’s missing to complete your vision?" the survey asks, with respondents welcome to submit written answers.
