Discussion on employee bonuses won’t make it to Wednesday’s agenda

A planned discussion on whether to give Gloucester County employees one-time $400 bonuses won’t make it to the agenda of Wednesday night’s board of supervisors’ meeting, as county staff needs more time to prepare to discuss the matter.

Assistant County Administrator Georgette Hurley said staff is still working to pull together all of the information for discussion, which will most likely be held during the board’s Nov. 16 meeting.

Gloucester Point district supervisor Bobby Crewe brought up the issue last Tuesday night, following a 4-3 vote by supervisors to change the way the county’s school system is funded from lump sum to categorical.

During that meeting, Crewe said he would like to make a motion at a future meeting to offer a $400 bonus to all Gloucester County employees as of Jan. 1, 2011. "They haven’t had a raise in three years and are due one also," he said.
