Sean M. McNash joined the Gloucester County Planning Department as its newest planner on Dec. 2.
Anne Ducey-Ortiz, director of planning and zoning, said that McNash will review plats and plans and be “the front counter person, if we had a counter.” She said McNash’s environmental background while at Ohio State University will be of help drafting some code amendments that might be logical follow-ups to the comprehensive plan that’s being updated.
Also, Ducey-Ortiz said that he may work on identifying possible changes to the county’s Highway Corridor Overlay District.
McNash earned his master’s degree at Ohio State in May. He also earned a bachelor’s degree at OSU.
McNash, 24, said he applied for this job because of the environmental challenges of working in the Chesapeake Bay region.
Ducey-Ortiz said that McNash was selected because of his educational background and how well he interviewed for the job.
Originally from Pittsburgh, Pa., McNash played on a volleyball club team at Ohio State and has played other sports in the past. He is a member of the American Planning Association and resides in Gloucester Court House.
