Piankatank Community League hosts candidates’ night

The Piankatank Community League will be hosting a "Meet the Candidates Forum" at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18 at the league building on Harcum Road.

Mike Winebarger and Michael Jenkins, independent candidates for the Petsworth district seat on the Gloucester County Board of Supervisors will attend, as well as at-large candidates John Meyer, a Republican, and independent Grant Keller.

Gloucester County School Board candidates Anita Parker and Charles Records are also expected to participate.

Moderator will be community league chair Paul Malcolm.

"The purpose of the forum will be to inform the public about issues confronting Gloucester County and how those issues will impact residents of the Petsworth district," said league spokesperson Susan Malcolm.

The forum will include an opening statement by each of the candidates followed by questions from the audience. Refreshments will follow, allowing those in the audience an opportunity to speak one-on-one with the candidates. The public is invited to attend.
