The Gloucester County Board of Zoning Appeals will hold a public hearing at 7 p.m. Tuesday on a special exception request to establish a home occupation for gun sales and related services.
David W. Harper II, applicant, and Kimberly A. (Conner) Harper, property owner, have applied for a special exception under Article 14 of the Gloucester Zoning Ordinance. The property, located at 5395 Gum Fork Road, lies in the Abingdon Magisterial District and is zoned Suburban Countryside (SC-1).
The applicant seeks the special exception for gunsmithing, sale of hunting and outdoor supplies and accessories, as well as gun sales, a notice said.
In other matters, the board will elect officers for the fiscal year 2013-2014.
Chairman James Wayne Horsley said all interested persons are invited to attend the meeting and speak during the hearing. Copies of the application are available for review at the Gloucester Codes Compliance Office, located in Gloucester County Office Building #3 on Main Street.
