Stars dot the sky above the Piankatank River near the John Andrew Twigg Bridge on Monday evening. The lights of construction cranes can also be seen near the Mathews shoreline; the span connecting Mathews and Middlesex counties is in the midst of a major rehabilitation project which includes replacing the deck, fenders and superstructure.
