Thanksgiving closings start next Wednesday

All courts and county offices in Gloucester and Mathews will close at noon on Wednesday, Nov. 23, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday and remain closed the rest of that week.

DMV customer service centers will be closed Nov. 24, 25, and 26, while post offices, ABC stores, and waste facilities in both counties will be closed Thursday only.

Schools in Gloucester will be closed the entire week of Thanksgiving, but Mathews schools will be closed Thursday and Friday only.

Gloucester libraries will close at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 23, and remain closed that Thursday and Friday but will reopen for the weekend. Mathews Memorial Library will close at noon on Wednesday, Nov. 23, and remain closed throughout the weekend.

The E-Z Pass office will be closed on Thanksgiving and will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 25.
