Summer officially begins tomorrow

Summer begins at 1:04 a.m. Friday, the moment marking the summer solstice and the 24-hour period with the greatest amount of daylight. The sun will rise at 5:45 a.m. and set at 8:30 p.m. From Friday until the winter solstice in December, the period of daylight will decrease and the length of the darkness will increase.
