This mobile home at the 6900 block of Short Lane in Gloucester was deemed a total loss after it was engulfed by fire Wednesday morning. According to Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad spokesperson Hanna Carson, the residents were home at the time of the blaze, but were able to get out of the structure without any injuries. There was one dog inside that perished in the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation. About 20 volunteers responded to the scene, including mutual aid provided by Abingdon Volunteer Fire and Rescue.
