Sheriff’s office still seeking information on missing Hayes man
Little said Conway has no bank account, cell phone or vehicle, which has made efforts to locate him difficult. He said witnesses who last spoke with Conway reported he seemed to be under the influence or confused, and that he may have been trying to get to Newport News. Little said the GSO is concerned with Conway’s well-being due to his suffering from a chemical dependency.
The Sheriff’s Office has taken several steps to track Conway since January, Little said, including neighborhood canvasses, foot searches, a cadaver dog search, a second scent-specific dog search, and an aerial search by helicopter.
He said residents in the Tidemill Road area where Conway was last seen and hunters that frequent the area have also conducted searches on foot and on ATVs in the Coleman Swamp through the winter, spring and summer months.
