Sen. Warner coming to Gloucester
Sen. Mark Warner is coming to Gloucester next week.
Warner, who is seeking his second term representing Virginia in the U.S. Senate, will be at the Disabled American Veterans’ office on Short Lane on Monday afternoon, according to Dianne Carter de Mayo, chairman of the Gloucester County Democratic Committee. The program is expected to begin shortly after 1 p.m., she said.
Warner “wants to talk with veterans and their families about veterans’ issues,” the party chairman said. “Sen. Warner will visit for about an hour and this is an opportunity for you to take your concerns to someone with the power to effect real change. If you are interested, please consider dropping by.”
Later that day, Sen. Warner will head to the Rappahannock Oyster Company in Topping for a community leader forum and reception. The event, which will be held from 4-5 p.m., will be hosted by Rappahannock Oyster Company owners Travis and Ryan Croxton.
Warner, a Democrat, is opposed on the Nov. 4 ballot by Republican Ed Gillespie and Libertarian Robert Sarvis.
