Rt. 17 improvements ahead of schedule

The Route 17 improvement project at Gloucester Point is running ahead of schedule, according to Marcie Parker, Virginia Department of Transportation’s assistant district administrator of maintenance.
Phase I of the project has been completed and Phase II is set for completion next week. The final stage of the project looks to be completed by this coming spring rather than the fall of 2011, so it is well ahead of schedule. "And that’s good news for all of us," Parker said.
