Plans are underway for the seventh biannual RiverBall, a gala event sponsored by Mathews Main Street to raise funds for a safer, more inviting, and more environmentally sensitive business district in Mathews, according to a release.

It will be held on June 9 at Eastham, the East River home of Butler and Diana Burton, located on Williams Wharf Road.

The theme for the evening will be "Wishing On a Star," the press release from committee chairs Norma Thomas and Bette Dillehay stated.

Dinner will be catered by Shelley Williams, with music by Ron Moody and the Centaurs, a Richmond band recognized by the Beach Music Hall of Fame.

All proceeds will be used to support ongoing planning for preserving and enhancing Mathews Main Street and ensuring the economic viability of the downtown business area, said the release.
