Planners, supervisors hold joint meeting Tuesday

.(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) | Posted on Feb 15, 2012 - 11:29 AM Printer Friendly View

The Mathews County Board of Supervisors and the Mathews County Planning Commission will hold a joint public hearing at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the historic courtroom on Court Street during the regular planning commission meeting.

The hearing will concern a proposed amendment to the county’s subdivision ordinance that would do away with a requirement for an environmental site assessment with the submission of a preliminary subdivision plat.

The requirement for such an assessment before construction may begin on an individual parcel would remain, along with the existing requirement for delineation of the Resource Protection Area at that time.

After the board adjourns, the planning commission may recommend approval or denial of the proposal. If approval is recommended, the matter will be taken up by the supervisors at the next board meeting, to be held at 7 p.m. Feb. 28.
