Crew season is officially underway, in spite of chilly temperatures at Williams Wharf Landing on Saturday morning. In top photo from left, Mathews High School rowers Phillip Machen, Andrew Merz and Cole Johnson line up against Gloucester, Great Bridge and other opponents in the men’s varsity four race. In bottom photo, coxswain Matt Hendrix, and Gloucester High School rowers Elaina Arsenovic, Kendall Worland, Elizabeth Keane and Kristen Hickman, from left, compete in the women‘s varsity four.
