The Mathews County Wetlands Board will consider three applications requesting permits for construction that will impact wetlands when it meets on Wednesday, March 2, in the historic courthouse, starting at 7 p.m.

Janet B. Martin of Cobbs Creek, is seeking a permit to grade and fill the bank and install quarry stone revetment eight feet high and 285 feet long on the Piankatank River at 1151 Roane Point Drive.

Patricia L. Martin of New Kent, is requesting permission to install three low-profile, 35-foot vinyl groins in front of an existing stone revetment on the Piankatank River in order to replace existing, misplaced, deteriorated wooden groins. The project is at 166 Old Farm Road.

Jeff and Isabelle Roseme of Richmond, are seeking a permit to install two stone sills in a trapezoidal design, one three feet tall by nine feet wide and 220 feet long, and one three feet high by nine feet wide and 110 feet long, with openings for tidal flushing and beach access. The sills will be open ended and not tied into the uplands. The proposal includes beach nourishment and planting smooth cordgrass for a marsh fringe. The project is on the Mobjack Bay at 264 Bayshore Point Rd.
