Market Days poster to be unveiled Aug. 19

The unveiling of the Mathews Market Days winning poster is scheduled for next Sunday, Aug. 19, at Mathews Memorial Library. Those who attend the unveiling, which is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m., will be able to meet the artist and purchase the poster at a special rate. Light refreshments will also be served.
Posters may be purchased at the reception for $25 each (no limit). They may also be purchased at the Mathews County Visitor and Information Center and the Mathews Art Gallery after the unveiling and will be available at this year’s Mathews Market Days celebration, which is scheduled for Sept. 7-8.
After Market Days, the posters may be purchased at the regular price of $35, if available.
Plenty of craft vendors
In other news, the Mathews Market Days Committee has announced the celebration will feature the work of 47 artists and craftspeople from Mathews and other parts of Virginia and North Carolina. Exhibitors will set up their displays near the historic courthouse.
