Photo: Hundreds of local residents turned out to see a reenactment of the Last Muster brought to life by Civil War reenactors on the Gloucester Court Circle on Saturday. The actual 1860 muster involved the assembly of the 21st Virginia Militia, a Gloucester unit assigned to the Tidewater Division, at Roaring Springs Farm where the citizen soldiers were reviewed by Major Gen. William B. Taliaferro. Here, Taliaferro and his adjutant, on the near horse, reviewed the militia Saturday. The event included opportunities for the public to talk with the reenactors and learn more about the people they portrayed and their Civil War-era roles. Photo by Kim Robins
