Gloucester to establish urban design planning committee
Gloucester County is establishing an Urban Development Area Steering Committee to work with county staff and consultants to oversee the planning process to designate and plan for an Urban Development Area (UDA) for the Gloucester Point area.
County spokesperson Christi Lewis said UDAs, or areas of compact development, incorporate the principles of new urbanism and traditional neighborhood design, such as mixed uses and pedestrian friendly streets.
She said the state mandates the designation of at least one UDA as part of Gloucester County’s comprehensive plan and funding is provided.
