Gloucester Point UDA meeting Tuesday

A second town hall meeting to discuss the proposed Urban Development Area at Gloucester Point is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Abingdon Elementary School cafeteria. Bobby Crewe, Gloucester Point District representative to the Gloucester County Board of Supervisors, will host the meeting.

Staff for the Gloucester Planning Department will join Crewe to continue discussions and answer questions and concerns about the project, said county spokesperson Christi Lewis.

The General Assembly mandated that Gloucester County designate at least one Urban Development Area (UDA). A UDA is an area served by existing transportation infrastructure and public utilities that is selected by a locality for future higher density, mixed-use growth within a traditional neighborhood, pedestrian-friendly environment.
