Volunteers from Dominion Virginia Power spent Wednesday, July 27, cleaning up debris in Gloucester left by the April 16 tornado. Eleven Dominion employees focused on three locations—Horsley Lane, Early Lane and Hickory Fork Road—using the company’s bucket trucks, auger truck and an excavator. Asplundh, a Dominion tree contractor, assisted by bringing two chippers and two dump trucks to haul the chips. Gloucester’s Waste Management provided three large dumpsters (one at each of the locations) which Dominion volunteers loaded up and Waste Management removed the following day.
