Preparations are well underway for the 2013 Daffodil Festival, which will be held on April 6-7 along Gloucester’s Main Street. The Daffodil Festival princesses were introduced to the public during a ceremony Saturday night at Brent & Becky’s Bulbs, Gloucester. They are, top photo from left, Madison Hill, Yasmene Kimble, Hayley Norville, Christine Riddett, Meghan Wishmeyer, Madison Barlow and, seated, Alyssa Crone. One of these young ladies will be crowned queen during the April 6 opening ceremonies. Also during Saturday’s ceremony at Brent & Becky’s, this year’s winning poster was unveiled. Adele Stone of Gloucester, bottom photo, said that she drew inspiration for her winning painting from the rows of daffodils blooming during a bike ride through Dutton. Posters are now available at the Gloucester Visitor’s Center or can be purchased at the Daffodil Festival.
