Court circle project expected to be completed by Daffodil Festival

Some finishing touches might not be completed until after the festival, he said, as the schedule is very much weather dependent.
The original, 230-day contract date passed recently, Curry said. However, general contractor Harbor Dredge & Dock of Richmond experienced more than a month-long delay last summer while archaeologists found artifacts and remains of several old buildings near the court circle. Also, there have been some weather delays.
The fifth phase of the project involves construction from the court circle to Justice Drive. The road construction on northbound traffic side of the circle has been mostly completed, except for a final asphalt overlay, Curry said.
