Board says farewell to three supervisors
All the board members, both those departing as well as those staying on in 2014, agreed that the present board has shown the utmost respect for one another and for staff, while keeping the best interests of the county in focus.
York district resident Carter Borden, who has been on the board for one four-year term, thanked Gloucester residents for allowing him to serve, adding that while “some things you do are not pleasant experiences, this was a pleasant experience for me.”
Borden said he loves the people of the county and the people of his district. “I even love the people who disagree with me on issues sometimes,” he said. “They are all my friends.”
He also said he couldn’t give high enough praise to county staff members, saying that they have done many things to help him over the past few years, both professionally and personally.
“I will enjoy life without politics,” Borden said, adding that he wishes the new board continued success.
