Board expected to decide Tuesday on date for next countywide reassessment

The Gloucester County Board of Supervisors met Tuesday night behind closed doors with the Gloucester School Board for over an hour and a half, but took no action.
The purpose of the closed meeting, according to a county notice, was to "discuss potential disposition of real property and potential award of a public contract involving expenditure of public funds."
Supervisors then reconvened into open session at the Gloucester Library’s community room to discuss the county’s reassessment, but no action was taken on that matter either.
Like the former board of supervisors, the newly-elected board seems to be divided on the issue of the county’s reassessment. At the beginning of the meeting, county administrator Brenda Garton urged supervisors to be prepared to make a decision one way or another at the board’s next regular meeting so that the county could proceed with a general reassessment.
