The DIY Network’s Blog Cabin show has brought a lot of traffic down the normally quiet Bellevue Lane in Susan. With construction complete and the show set to premiere in a few weeks, the traffic may have quieted down, but not the praise given to the local businesses that helped make the project a success.

Matt Blashaw, licensed contractor and host of the show, spoke highly of the local contractors that he worked with. "The local workers at Blog Cabin were awesome," Blashaw said. "They are a great group of professionals that took the utmost pride in their work."

He said he didn’t think many of them knew what to expect when the project got started. "I mean, it’s not very often a TV show comes roaring through your town to shoot an entire series in one home," Blashaw said. "I think after the first week, everyone realized how special this project was and we all pulled together to create a truly incredible renovation.

"Even Dan the plumber would finish his work on the plumbing and then jump in to help me with some framing work," Blashaw added. "I told him that he didn’t have to do that and he simply replied ‘Hey, this is what I love to do.’"

Blashaw said every single worker brought amazing skills and Southern hospitality to the worksite to make this project one of the best he has ever worked on. "I am truly honored to have worked with all of them," he added. "I just wish I could take them on the road with me."
