Five local residents are questioning the concept of sustainable development and calling on county leaders to scotch the recently-adopted comprehensive plan. But O.J. Cole and Danette Machen, chairs of the Mathews County Board of Supervisors and Planning Commission, respectively, say the document is the product of years of work by local residents, and they stand by their decision to approve it.
