A school’s way of helping
Gloucester’s Achilles Elementary School came up with a special way to donate to the shelter animals. The school’s Student Council Association talked about fundraising ideas for their group and came up with quite a unique idea.
The students wanted to recycle their old crayons, so they melted them down into heart shapes then sold the hearts for $1 each. The council members took a vote to decide which organization should receive their donation. The children raised $383.47 and donated it all to the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society.
This project shows creativity and is a great example of ways to give back to the community. The Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society sends a huge “Thank You” to all 35 SCA students at the Achilles Elementary School for their great act of kindness!
