Supervisors leaning toward categorical funding of schools

Though no formal vote was taken, a majority of the Gloucester County Board of Supervisors voiced support for a switch to categorical funding for the county’s school system during a joint work session between the two boards on Tuesday night in the Gloucester Library’s community room.

Mathews boat building tradition commemorated

Mathews residents will be able to celebrate the county’s rich maritime history from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the fifth annual Maritime Heritage Day at Horn Harbor Marina, Port Haywood.
