Asked how she arrived at her catering business following a career in social work, Patsy replied with a smile on her face, "Well, I still keep my hands on in a small way with my social work but I had plan ‘A’ for retirement: it was owning my own inn. I had always wanted this." Although Patsy had her master’s degree in social work, she went back to school and received an associate’s degree in hospitality and entrepreneurship. All this work was in preparation to begin her plan "A".
"But it so happened to be at the same time the real estate market took a big drop. It was then I decided to go to plan ‘B’ catering."
"I wanted to build up clientele so I started selling my food at the Mathews Farmers’ Market." She did so for three years under her new business name Patsy Jeanne’s LLC. Today you can give Patsy Jeanne’s a call for soups, salads, a complete dinner. Whatever your taste buds are asking for, it will be made and delivered.
