October is party time
Members of Our Lady of the Bay Council #11210 of the Knights of Columbus will present their first rendition of a true Oktoberfest, one that will feature the best German beer, the best German foods and an evening of fun. To add to the atmosphere some gentlemen will be wearing their lederhosen while the ladies will be dressed in their dirndls, all traditional German dress. These Knights are an organization of 125 members from both Francis de Sales and the Church of The Visitation in Middlesex; and they will put on the affair with the help of the ladies.
John VanOver and Ed Lipinski are serving as co-chairmen. "This theme came about because we both have some German background in our family heritage. You know, each year our organization has a fundraiser, but usually it’s held in Middlesex. This year we thought everyone should know about Mathews. The proceeds from all our fundraisers are divided between the two counties. Everything we are serving is homemade and has been taste-tested. The beer is true German draft beer. We want people to know they have gotten their money’s worth."
