The Mathews Music Appreciation Club will hold a meeting Thursday, Sept. 11 at 10:30 a.m. at the Mathews Active Lifestyle Center on Buckley Hall Road. Local vocalist Caleb Selph will present the program. The club’s goal is to promote interest in and appreciation of music, and to especially promote music in the local community. The public is invited.

Cricket Hill Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, will meet at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, at the home of Janet Burgess. Chapter treasurer Judy Jay will present a program on the DAR Official Insignia. The meeting will also include a memorial service for past regent Ella Edwards, who died in July.
