Mike Mullens is the new owner of the 7-Eleven store on Route 17 at Brays Point Road, Ordinary. Mullens said the convenience store was previously corporate-owned.

He became the owner and operator on May 22. His mother, Elizabeth Brown of Gloucester Point, is a partner in the business.

The store had been remodeled prior to his becoming owner, Mullens said. He carries a full line of convenience store items. The hot food section is popular, he said, including freshly-made pizza (sold whole or by the slice), wings, egg rolls and hot dogs.

Because of the nature of this area, Mullens stocks a line of fishing supplies. And due to the store’s location, on northbound Route 17, he said, "this is an evening store," well patronized by commuters returning to Gloucester after working across the York River during the day.
