Two Hayes lawyers have merged their practices into the GibsonSingleton, PLLC firm.

Ken Gibson and John Singleton, who had occupied separate floors of an office building at 4073 George Washington Memorial Highway, Hayes, announced their new partnership May 10. The new firm occupies the entire building.

Gibson said he and Singleton specialize in personal injury cases. Singleton said many of these injuries are caused by motor vehicle accidents and, surprisingly, a lot of people with injuries fail to be checked out at a hospital or don’t immediately contact their insurance agent. The firm does not charge a consultation fee, they said, nor do the lawyers receive any payment unless they recover money for their clients.

In some cases, Singleton said, a client might be injured during an accident and suffer intense pain and miss months of work. "John and I are experienced trial lawyers," Gibson said. "We work hard to reach a fair settlement if that is in the best interests of our client. However, if a fair settlement can’t be reached, we do not hesitate to go to trial and fight aggressively, to the fullest extent of the law."

Besides representing many clients who have been injured, Singleton said the firm will work hard to "help stop tragic injuries from happening in the Middle Peninsula, Northern Neck and beyond."
