Daffodil Vintage on Main, a new event rental business, opened for business April 6 on Gloucester’s Main Street, next door to the Wild Rabbit Café.

Owner Sherri Clark runs the business full-time, with assistance from her mother, Renee Benton of Bena. This is the first time Clark has owned a business.

Clark has collected glassware for years and occasionally helped plan events for friends. Daffodil Vintage is an offshoot of those two interests.

The shop houses only a sampling of Clark’s much larger collection of vintage and vintage-inspired décor, props and what she terms "tablescapes," which can be matching or unmatched settings of china tailored to a client’s color and design preferences.

"Think weddings, bridal showers, baby showers, corporate events, theater, photo shoots and parties for any occasion," a flyer said.

Clark said she stocks quality vintage rental pieces from elegant tufted sofas, dining and occasional tables to colorful china, stemware and serving pieces including Rogers Daffodil silverplated flatware service. The daffodil connection tied in nicely with the shop opening during the recent Daffodil Festival, she said.
