Patsy’s Pub & Grille, newly opened on Main Street in Mathews, is "more laid back" than its sister restaurant, Gloucester County’s Rosemary & Wine, owner Patricia Britto said.
Patsy Britto most recently was a manager of Rosemary & Wine, a restaurant owned by her husband, Art, and his mother, Mary Amos of Gloucester and Georgia. Now, she is proprietor of her own place, Patsy’s.
Art Britto, chef at Rosemary & Wine, will rotate in the kitchen between the two restaurants, as will sous chef Ben Tipton of Gloucester. Assistant managers at Patsy’s are Angie Hart of Mathews and Melody Woolard of Gloucester.
Patsy’s opened for business March 18 and the early business has been very good, Patsy said. Fried seafood has been very popular there, she said, especially a seafood combo.
A number of sandwiches and appetizers (wings are popular) are featured, Art said, as are meals like steaks, fish and chips and daily specials. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner Monday-Saturday.
If you have room for dessert, Patsy said, you will be served specialties made by The Cake Man, a bakery located adjacent to the pub.
