Jordan Marine at Gloucester Point is under new ownership.

Charles Duke II of Dutton, purchased the business in late November and leases the property. Duke’s other business, Waterfront Development, has done work for Jordan Marine for a number of years.

Jordan Marine, located off Jordan Road, has been in business under several owners since the 1920s, Duke said. Current services include boat repair including painting, woodwork, and fiberglass.

Dry storage is also popular, with the capacity to store approximately 40 boats. The site has several piers for temporary tie-up, he said, and three barns for inside storage. Also, there is a large marine lift and a railway to get boats up to 60 tons out of the water.

Jordan Marine handles a lot of recreational vessels, Duke said, but also repairs commercial craft. Future plans include renovating three piers and adding a fourth pier with wet slips.
