Moving company relocates to White Marsh Shopping Center

Two and a half Men Movers recently relocated from a Gloucester residence to an office at White Marsh Shopping Center.

Owner Daryl Lackey began the business in 2010. The company specializes in local and in-state moves but does not handle out-of-state moves.

Lackey runs the business full-time. Operations manager Lonnie Ford of Hampton has worked with Lackey since the business began.

"Everybody always asks who the half man is," Lackey said, so he jokingly refers to himself as the half man since he helps with moves and coordinates scheduling.

"Customer satisfaction is our number-one goal," Lackey said. "We handle each box as though it says ‘Fragile’ on it."

To that end, the company’s two moving trucks are treated for bedbugs after every move by a pest control service, Lackey said, and the moving blankets and pads are washed in hot water and dried.

Lackey and his six employees offer expert packing and unpacking services. Ford said they have moved baby grand pianos, which are a challenge and must be partially disassembled to move. Lackey offers free estimates for his moving services.
